On Tuesday, May 15, the Chincoteage Island American Legion Riders will hold their regular monthly meeting at 7:30 p.m. at the Post Home.-On Friday, May 18, the American Legion will be serving Steamed Shrimp and Clams from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Post Home.-On Friday, May 25, the Sons of the American Legion Squadron will be serving Crab Cake Platters from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Post Home.-On Saturday, May 26, the Sons of the American Legion Squadron will be holding a Chicken BBQ Fund Raiser beginning at 10 a.m. at the Landmark Plaza on Main Street.- On Monday, May 28, the Chincoteague American Legion Post Annual Memorial Day Service at the Post Home On Main Street. Please plan to be seated by at 10 a.m. Rev. Robert Reese, retired U. S. Army Chaplain, will be the keynote speaker. Refreshments will be served after the service. All veterans and the members of the local community are invited to attend.-On Friday evenings, Pool Tournaments beginning at 7 p.m.-On Sundays, Sports on the Big Screen TVs. Doors open at noon. -Note: the 1st and 3rd Saturday Bingo sessions have been suspended until further notice. The Chincoteague American Legion Post opens daily at noon. Lunch and dinner menu items served daily from noon - 7 p.m. After 7 p.m. regular menu items available. The specials range from sandwiches to small platters. We welcome members and guests to come check out our special menu items reasonably priced.
Since our charter in January 1933, our American Legion Post has been welcoming and serving VETERANS from all branches of our Armed Forces. Today, we continue to welcome all military serving our country. Joining our Post enables you to continue serving your God, Country and Community. Our mission is to implement the goals, aspirations, dreams, peace and blessings for our country, friends and families embodied in our preamble below.
Adopted Military Unit: 307th Brigade Support Battalion (BSB), U. S. Army, supports the 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, NC.

All you have to do is click on the "Application" link on the left side, fill out the application, then mail your check and a photo copy of your DD Form 214 or other official proof of honorable service with the U. S. Armed Forces to American Legion Post 159, P.O. Box 244, Chincoteague, VA 23336; OR give your check and proof to the Bartender at the Post.
